Pannesma Co. Ltd. was established in 1981 to meet the growing demand of the Saudi Arabian market for technical, management, operations and maintenance services as well as project management. The company was established as a joint venture between Pan Am World Services, a member of the world icon Pan Am Airlines Group and the Saudi Company NESMA.
Pannesma is an award-winning Saudi company and has developed long lasting business relationships as a trusted local partner for some of the world’s leading Defense Contractors including Lockheed Martin, Raytheon and Airbus Helicopters. The company has its headquarters in Riyadh with support offices in Dhahran, Tabuk, Taif and Khamis Mushait.
Pannesma also operates in various areas related to the MRO of Simulators, Aircraft, and Parts of Military Equipment in addition to Trading of Military Articles.
Pannesma had its first O&M project in Yanbu under the Royal Commission for Jubail & Yanbu starting in 1981 followed soon after in 1982 by the prestigious US – Saudi Arabian Joint Economic Commission (JECOR). This was followed by numerous other projects of growing size and complexity including meteorology, radar, navigational aids, air traffic control and maintenance of airports, military installations, government communities and others.
In 1991 NESMA purchased the Pan Am shares in the Pannesma JV and became a solely owned Saudi Company.
Pannesma operated the Royal Saudi Air Force Air Defense System, Ground Environment and Navigational Aids Program (GENA) from 1990 to 1996.
In 1991, Pannesma was awarded a subcontract by Hughes Aircraft Systems International (later Raytheon) for the prestigious Royal Saudi Air Force FMS Peace Shield Program.
Building on this previous experience in command-and-control systems, Pannesma became the main subcontractor to Raytheon for the MOD Al Diriyah project which will provide the Saudi Armed Forces with a Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (C4I) System establishing a national-level, strategic C4I capability for integration and coordination of joint force operations.
Pannesma has expanded by forming strategic partnerships with industry leaders with an emphasis on technology transfer, process standardization, financial, project and risk management; staff training and development of local talent in Saudi Arabia.
